Experts from Radical Storage, a baggage storage provider, analyzed the data from 22.9 million reviews of 146,000 tourist landmarks and attractions on TripAdvisor. According to the results of this study, London ranked first by the number of free pastimes.
Although the capital of the United Kingdom is deservedly considered to be one of the most expensive places to live, with staggering prices of alcohol, food, transport, and of course home rent, many of the city’s cultural landmarks can be enjoyed free of charge, such as the Science Museum, Tate Modern, Natural History Museum, and many others.
There is a total of 1,389 such destinations in the city, with the average TripAdvisor rating of 4.41 out of 5.
London is second only to New York by the number and quality of tourist attractions (without taking pay into account). It is ahead of Tokyo and Rome that are in the third and fourth place respectively.
It is therefore not surprising that with such performance, London annually attracts multitudes of both domestic tourists and visitors from other countries that are not intimidated even by high prices of rental and for-sale housing.
